I have five years experience in webdesign and I am constantly learning. I have never used a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, such as FrontPage, to build a site. HTML and CSS are the heart of all usable, accessible design
This is a rough guideline rather than a fixed rate schedule. I would like to be flexible, able to accomodate any client's needs and budget.
My base rate is $15 an hour. Different kinds of work and different levels of complexity require varying amounts of time.

Website design and maintenance
A simple site setup will run from $125 (perhaps even less) to... whatever you need. Designs will be user-friendly and as flexible and fast-loading as possible. (I do not do Flash sites!) I will maintain backups of clients' site material to the best of my ability. All personal information (passwords, etc.) will be kept entirely confidential in a secure, encrypted database.
Updates and additions may be scheduled or on an "as needed" basis. Minimum $15
Consulting ~ troubleshooting
I will review an existing website once at no charge, checking for accessibility, loading time, and any obvious potential problems.
Graphic Art
Web art, business card and logo design, alteration of photographs - I can work with a variety of formats.
Writing, editing
Press releases, short articles - minimum $15. Depends on amount of work. Generating content takes more time than cleaning up punctuation and grammar.
I have published articles in several magazines (though not recently), and frequently help amateur writers to improve their work. All writing on this site is my own.
