Chewy bits
Excerpts, rants and short essays
Some of these are from the Creative Writing Workshop thread at the AuelBoard @ ECfans.com, in which I attempt to help amateur writers become aware of what makes writing work. Others have bubbled up in my head and had to get written.
- Lumps and Bumps:
- Here there be worms
- Dialog -- the unnecessary speed-bump and the odd skid, two views
- Plot-schmott:
- You've got character
- Writer's block:
- The Plot Thickens
- Blocks are for building
- Other rants:
- Ickies - bad habits that writers quickly fall into if they don't watch their step.
- P03try - why I don't offer to critique the stuff...
Mind you, I'm not trying to set up one of those Advice To Young Writers sites here--there are plenty of good ones already. This is just my view of the trail, for what it's worth, part of my own learning experience. Most of it was aimed at writers of fan-fiction. Ack!
